Elsie May Ciesinski, age 105, passed away November 11, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona. Memorial services will be 2 pm Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Canby, MN. Burial will be in the St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Canby. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby is entrusted with the arrangements.
Elsie May Warneka was born July 27, 1914, to Henry and Sophie Warneka in Wadena, MN. She was married to Dominick Wagner who passed away. She then was united in marriage to Edward Ciesinski on May 3, 1942, and lived in Tacoma, Washington where she had her only child, Edward Ciesinski who was born in 1951. He was tragically killed on July 9, 1983, her husband Edward passed away in 1960. Elsie moved back to Minnesota where she lived in Big Fork, Grand Rapids and St. Paul. Elsie was forever cherished by her lifetime love, Kenneth Anderson. They spent over 30 years at the lake house cabin in Browns Valley, MN. She instilled a work ethic in her entire family. She also worked at the corner store with Roxanne for many years. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. She loved fishing, playing cards and Yahtzee, and gardening. Elsie loved to vacuum the kid’s rooms when they were hungover from the night before, banging the beds and door, etc., letting them know it was time to get up. And now, the kids all do this to their own kids to this day…
She is lovingly remembered by her four sons: Phillip Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Michael Anderson and Christopher Anderson and their spouses; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Elsie was also preceded in death by her lifetime love, Kenneth Anderson.
