Duane Robert Gregor, of Tyler, Minnesota passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Tyler Nursing Home in Tyler on June 29, 2023.  A visitation will be on Wednesday, July 5 at Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler from 1:00 – 2:00 PM with a memorial service at 2:00 PM.  Burial at Danebod Cemetery to follow the service.

Duane Robert Gregor was born on July 10, 1933 to George and Gertrude (Neuman) Gregor in Clear Lake, South Dakota.  He attended Ivanhoe Public School, graduating in 1953.  After graduation, he worked at the Ivanhoe Creamery.  May 6, 1955, Duane was united in marriage to the love of his life Alice Lund.   He enlisted in the Army in September of 1955 and the couple moved to Media, Pennsylvania.  After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1957, they then moved to Springfield, Minnesota, where Duane took a job working at Springfield Creamery.  In 1961 Duane and Alice moved to the Lund Dale Farm in Tyler to work and later purchased the farm when Alice’s father, Ed Lund, retired.  Duane flourished as a dairy farmer.  He was a very hardworking man and invested a lot of his time and energy into caring for his wife and family as well as improving the dairy farm.  He received multiple awards over the years for top producing herds.  He also raised high-pedigreed stud bulls for the Minnesota Valley Breeders.  He continued farming until his “retirement” in 1992, but enjoyed continuing to help on the farm.  Duane was an active member of the Danebod Lutheran Church for many years.  He also served the community of Tyler on the Lumber Board and as a DHIA Board Member.  He enjoyed square dancing, cards, and travel.  After his retirement, he was able to travel throughout the US and internationally with the University of Minnesota groups.  He also had a passion and talent for woodworking and donated many handmade wooden toys throughout the years.  His pride and joy were his family and his dairy farm.  His family remembers him as a loving and caring man who taught many important lessons.  They were also very fond of hearing him say, “Well, I suppose…” as he got up to go to back to work.

On June 29, 2023, while surrounded by his loving family, Duane went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 19 days.
