MARSHALL — A debate between Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, and DFL challenger Anthony Studemann, scheduled for Wednesday evening, has been canceled due to illness.
Studemann informed organizers that he is focusing on recovery and unable to participate in the event. He is challenging Swedzinski for the Minnesota House District 15A seat, which covers Lyon, Yellow Medicine, Lac qui Parle counties, and parts of Chippewa County.
Swedzinski, first elected in 2010, is serving his seventh term and is the Republican Lead on the House Climate and Energy Finance and Policy Committee. Studemann, a Marshall resident, has focused his campaign on community growth, education, infrastructure, and emergency services.
