As the summer boating season nears its end, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reminding residents to remain vigilant on the water. Kesteloot Enterprises Donates $500 to Local 4H Groups

MARSHALL -- Kesteloot Enterprises Inc. (KEI) has donated $500 to support local 4H groups, with funds provided by the Kubota Tractor Corporation during the Kubota Orange Days celebration.  The donation was presented to Renae Jenniges, Adeline Louwagie, Sam Jens, and Mallorie Hicks, representing the local youth. The check was handed over by Tom, Daren, and Travis Kesteloot of KEI.  KEI acknowledged the efforts of the Lyon County 4H Foundation in promoting youth involvement in agriculture.

Currie Man Injured in Collision with Semi in Clara City

CLARA CITY -- A Currie man was injured after his vehicle collided with a semi on Tuesday in Clara City, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 5:32 Tuesday morning, a 2020 GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on Highway 23 and a 2015 Peterbilt semi was traveling westbound on Highway 7 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.  The driver of the GMC, 65-year-old Dale Allen Robinson of Currie, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Rice hospital.   The driver of the Peterbilt, 34-year-old Benjamin Anthony Ruther of Winsted, was not injured.  Assistance was provided by the Chippewa [...]

SANBORN – Three people were injured after their vehicle collided with a semi on Tuesday near the intersection of Highway 14 and 71 in Redwood County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Heat and Storms Cause Decades-Low Attendance at Minnesota State Fair

FALCON HEIGHTS -- The Minnesota State Fair saw its lowest Monday attendance in decades, with only 80,546 visitors, due to extreme heat and severe storms that caused flash flooding on the fairgrounds. The fair delayed its opening on Tuesday for cleanup efforts. Despite record-setting turnout on Thursday and Friday, Monday's attendance was the lowest for a first Monday since 1983 and one of the lowest for any non-opening day since the mid-1980s.
