MARSHALL – Marshall Public Schools have entered the T-Mobile 5G Friday Night Lights Sweepstakes, a multi-tiered competition aimed at supporting student activities and high school football. The school received a $1,000 sponsorship for its initial entry in early August, putting it in the running for additional prizes, including a $5,000 weekly grant and the chance to become a finalist for a $100,000 high school grant.
The grand prize, valued at $2 million, includes a cash grant, a new scoreboard, 5G network upgrades, and an enhanced weight room. The competition is designed to engage the community, encouraging participation by sharing school spirit on Instagram using designated hashtags.
Jeremy Williams, Superintendent of Marshall Public Schools, expressed appreciation for T-Mobile’s ongoing support through their Hometown grants. “Marshall Public Schools is grateful for T-Mobile’s continued support of our community through their Hometown grants,” Williams said. He highlighted the excitement of involving the community in sharing their school spirit to qualify for these generous prizes as a great start to the school year. “We appreciate T-Mobile’s commitment to the Marshall community,” he added, encouraging everyone to participate by sharing their enthusiasm for the Marshall Tigers.
Now through September 20 the Marshall community can participate by sharing their school spirit on Instagram using hashtags #FN5GL and #Sweepstakes and tagging @Tmobile and @marshallpublicschools. Each post on Instagram earns another entry toward becoming a finalist.
Each high school that enters the Friday Night 5G Lights competition is automatically eligible for T-Mobile’s “$5K Fridays” weekly sweepstakes, offering a $5,000 prize. From August 1 to September 20, T-Mobile will randomly select 50 schools each week, totaling 300 winners. Schools, students, PTA members, and the community can boost their chances by sharing school spirit on Instagram, potentially earning funds for new equipment, sports gear, or transportation costs.
