Frank Sachs to Present on the Berlin Wall at Lyon County Museum

MARSHALL, MN – The Lyon County Museum will host Frank Sachs for a presentation on the "Rise and Fall of the Berlin Wall" on Tuesday, April 15, at 6:30 PM. Sachs, a retired educator with decades of experience in history and counseling, will discuss the Berlin Wall’s role in the Cold War, its fall in 1989, and the impact on global politics. Boyd Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision in Chippewa County

CLARA CITY – A Boyd man was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Thursday near Clara City in Chippewa County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 8:34 Thursday evening, a 2016 Hyundai Elantra was traveling southbound on Highway 23 and a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling westbound on Highway 7 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.  The driver of the Dodge, 74-year-old Charles Border of Boyd, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Avera-Granite Falls hospital.  The driver of the Hyundai, a 17-year-old Willmar boy, and his passenger, a 16-year-old Granite Falls boy, were not injured. Captain Casey Meagher of the Minnesota State Patrol reported 62 roadway deaths in the first three months of the year. MARSHALL -- A Marshall woman is facing multiple charges after an investigation into a domestic situation, according to the Marshall Police Department. At approximately 3:55 Tuesday afternoon, a 32-year-old Marshall woman was arrested at the 400 block of West Marshall Street. She is being charged with malicious punishment of a child and domestic assault. The investigation is ongoing. 

Two Passengers Taken to Hospital After Marshall Collision

MARSHALL -- Two people sustained possible injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday, according to the Marshall Police Department. SHAKOPEE, MN -- A Marshall man died after being struck by a vehicle on Friday in Scott County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 6:00 Friday morning, a 2011 Toyota RAV4 was traveling southbound on Highway 169 near Old Brickyard Road. The driver of the Toyota witnessed a stalled Nissan Maxima on the right shoulder and maneuvered to the left lane. BROOKLYN PARK, MN – The pilot killed in a plane crash Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn Park is believed to be Terry Dolan, a top U.S. Bancorp executive. The single-engine SOCATA TBM aircraft crashed into a home on Kyle Avenue around 12:20 p.m., sparking a massive fire. Federal officials stated that the pilot was the sole occupant and only fatality. CANBY -- A Canby teenager was injured after his vehicle collided with another on Saturday in Yellow Medicine County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
