HECTOR – A Bird Island woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Thursday, according to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 4:50 Thursday morning, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 4, about two miles north of Hector.
Emergency crews found a 2015 Subaru sedan in the east ditch. The driver of the Subaru, 58-year-old Maria Fischer of Bird Island, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Olivia Hospital.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates Fischer was traveling southbound on State Highway 4 when she lost control, the vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch.
Assistance was provided by the Hector Ambulance Service and Hector Fire Department.
