Get ready to welcome a LOT of new country fans into the fold, because this happened last night:  Beyoncé is going country.  (!!!)  After her Verizon ad aired during the Super Bowl, she announced a new country album called “Renaissance Act 2”, out March 29th.

A few astute fans thought something like this could be coming after she wore a cowboy hat to the Grammys last weekend.

She released the first two songs from it:  One called “Texas Hold ‘Em” that’s twangy, but also very Beyoncé.  The other is called “16 Carriages”.

Gee . . . it’s almost like people are suddenly realizing country music is cool.  (People)

(PROFANITY WARNING:  The lyrics in “Texas Hold ‘Em” include the S-word and other profanity.  The lyrics to “16 Carriages” are clean.)
