2025-02-07T10:15:47-06:00February 7th, 2025|Categories: KARL, KARZ, KKCK, KMHL|

Sometimes we hype a movie in our head so much that it couldn't possibly live to the expectation... and sometimes the movie in question was so bad to begin with it wouldn't have made a difference. Same could be said about Valentines day, so for this week's PBL we talk about the movies that we looked forward to so much, but they ultimately let us down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEOktL5kIDc

2025-02-05T11:09:27-06:00February 5th, 2025|Categories: KARL, KARZ, KKCK, KMHL|

We're 36 days into 2025, and if you're not impressed so far . . . don't worry, these are just the crappy months anyway.   A new poll asked people what their LEAST favorite month is, and the top two responses were:  January (26%) . . . and February (11%).  August (10%) is third, probably because that's when summer ends and school is starting up again.   20% of people said they didn't have a least favorite month.   People were also asked for their FAVORITE month.  The ones with the most votes were October (14%) and December (11%) . . [...]

Here Are Some of the Silly Prop Bets You Can Make For This Years Super Bowl

2025-02-05T10:19:47-06:00February 5th, 2025|Categories: KARL, KARZ, KKCK, KMHL|

The Super Bowl seems to be the best time to make STUPID bets on STUPID things.  Here are some of the bizarre "prop bets" you can make this year . . . along with the probability that they'll actually happen.   1.  Travis Kelce proposes to Taylor Swift after the game:  16.7% 2.  A coach or player will cry during the national anthem:  81.1%  (There's always at least one.) 3.  A quarterback catches a pass:  5.9%  (This one should be higher this year.  They don't call it the Philly Special for nothing.) 4.  The color of the Gatorade poured on the winning coach:  [...]

Forget “Soft Spaces” . . . Should We Bring Back Dangerous Playgrounds?

2025-02-04T11:02:26-06:00February 4th, 2025|Categories: KARL, KARZ, KKCK, KMHL|

Some parents think that we coddle kids too much, and they're becoming too soft.  And in the Netherlands, they're trying to correct this by making playgrounds LESS SAFE.  Sort of.   They're NOT talking about leaving rusted-out slides . . . putting a pit of spikes below the monkey bars . . . or adding more parking for windowless vans.  (???)   A new policy proposal in the Netherlands would increase kids' access to open outdoor play areas to "climb, play with water and fire, sword-fight with sticks, build with hammers, rope, or knives, and wrestle and fall."   It's not [...]

“Little House on the Prairie” Is Getting a Reboot

2025-01-30T09:33:49-06:00January 30th, 2025|Categories: KARL, KARZ, KKCK, KMHL|

Netflix is rebooting "Little House on the Prairie".  The original series told the KIND OF true story of the Ingalls family, who lived on a farm in Minnesota in the late 1800s.   It was loosely based on the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder, and it ran from 1974 to 1983.   A Netflix exec says the new version will be, quote, "part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West."   There's no word yet on casting or a start date.   The original series streams on Peacock, where people watched more than [...]

Will Jason Kelce Stick to His Vow to Root for the Eagles?

2025-01-29T10:04:46-06:00January 29th, 2025|Categories: KARL, KARZ, KKCK, KMHL|

Two Sundays from now, Jason Kelce is putting the CITY of Brotherly Love over ACTUAL brotherly love.  Because he's rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl over his brother Travis and the Chiefs.   At least that's how he was feeling about it a year ago.  During a March 2024 edition of the "New Heights" podcast, the idea of a Chiefs / Eagles Super Bowl came up.   And Jason said, quote, "I will root for the Eagles of course because I will always be an Eagle first and foremost."   After Travis called B.S., Jason said, quote, "I'll also root for [...]

2025-01-28T11:09:25-06:00January 28th, 2025|Categories: KARL, KARZ, KKCK, KMHL|

A recent study found even one-minute bursts of activity can get your heart rate up enough to help you live longer.  Here are eight everyday things we don't think of as exercise, but they COUNT as exercise.     1.  Taking the stairs.  It's a classic one. 2.  Gardening.  Or any activity that's physical. 3.  Carrying your shopping bags in.  Or even better, walking to the store. 4.  Running to catch a train or a bus.  (Or, be original and run ON the bus.) 5.  General cleaning.  Just picking stuff up around the house if you do it quick. 6.  Doing [...]
