Angeline “Angie” E. Ochsendorf, age 92, of Canby, MN, passed away with family at her side on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Nicolai Lutheran Church in Canby, MN. Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Canby City Cemetery, Canby. The Houseman Funeral Home – Birk Chapel in Canby is handling the arrangements.
Angeline Eldine (Sommerfeld) Ochsendorf was born February 21,1932 to Christoph and Frieda (Richter) Sommerfeld near Boyd, MN, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Omro Township. She attended rural school District 52 and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1949. On November 12, 1950 she was united in marriage to Erlin Ochsendorf at Omro Lutheran Church. The couple moved to a farm in Oshkosh Township then later moved to Canby. They had five sons. She worked for Snortum’s Flowers, Pearson Red and White, Jim’s Super Value and Swennes Insurance, where she retired. Angie was a member of Nicolai Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, dancing, watching westerns, visiting with friends, sporting events especially Twins Baseball, reading and quilting. She loved spending quality time with family and attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Grateful for having shared in Angie’s life: children: Kevin (Karen) Ochsendorf of Willmar, MN, Bruce (Leanne) Ochsendorf of Willmar, MN, Todd (Maureen) Ochsendorf of Fredericksburg, VA; daughters-in-law: Barb Ochsendorf of Ft Collins, CO and Jeanie Ochsendorf of Watertown, SD; eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren: Janelle (Toby) Wishard and their children, Thomas, Lauren, and Sophia; Chad (Samantha) Ochsendorf and their children, Lileigh, Brynleigh, Oakleigh, and Lawsen; Justin (Val) Ochsendorf and their children, Kaden and Kelton; JP Puma (Kristen) and their children, Ashlyn and Leo; Jerod (Angie) Ochsendorf and their children, Kellen and Eli; Jason (Amy) Ochsendorf and their children, Alaina, Jaden, and Addison; Kelsey (Ryan) Engelhardt and their children, McKinley and Samuel; Heath Ochsendorf and his children, Tavian and Sophia; Tayler Ochsendorf and her child Tucker; her sister, Lavonne Curtiss of Edina, MN; and many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Erlin Ochsendorf; her parents, Chris and Frieda Sommerfeld; two sons, Kerry and Loren Ochsendorf; brother-in-law Leonard Curtiss.
