Be sure to buckle up the next time you get an Uber or Lyft.  A study found a full THIRD of ride-share drivers have been in at least one wreck.

Researchers polled 277 of them, and one in three said they’d been in some sort of accident before.  Just driving that much ups your chances, but that’s still a lot.  The study attributes it to four main things . . .

1.  Long hours, so they’re tired.  Especially if they have a day job, and they’re using it as a second source of income.

2.  Phone use.  Just like us, they text and drive.  But a lot of ride-share drivers also get distracted trying to book their next ride before their current one is done.

3.  Not being familiar with the area.  Even with GPS, it’s harder to drive when you don’t really know where you are.

4.  The passengers.  Driving with drunk idiots in the backseat can be a little distracting.
