GREEN VALLEY – Two people were injured after a collision Tuesday evening between Green Valley and Cottonwood. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 9:15 Tuesday evening, a 2011 BMW 528 was traveling northbound on Highway 23 and a 2017 Dodge Journey was traveling southbound on Highway 23 when one of the vehicles lost control, went across the center line, and collided with the other vehicle.
The driver of the BMW, 20-year-old Matthew Allen Vallejo of Maynard, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Marshall hospital.
The driver of the Dodge, 59-year-old Kathleen Jacqueline Preuss of Wood Lake, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Marshall hospital. The report notes Preuss was not wearing her seat belt.
Assistance was provided by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Cottonwood Fire/Rescue.
