COLD SPRING, Minn. — A 29-year-old man died early Thursday after an industrial accident at the Pilgrim’s poultry processing plant in Cold Spring.
The Cold Spring/Richmond Police Department says officers responded to a medical emergency at about 1:15 a.m. at the plant in the 800 block of Sauk River Road. Investigators say the employee became pinned beneath equipment in the loading dock area. Coworkers removed him before first responders arrived.
Emergency crews provided medical care, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation. The victim’s name has not been released.
The Cold Spring/Richmond Police Department was assisted by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Cold Spring Rescue, and Mayo Ambulance.
