VESTA – A woman has been arrested after brandishing a firearm in rural Vesta and leading the police on a 20-mile pursuit early Friday morning, according to the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 3:04 Friday morning, dispatch received a report of an intoxicated woman chasing a man through a yard with a handgun. Before deputies arrived, the suspect got into a vehicle and began crashing it into other vehicles on the property.
When deputies from the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office arrived, the suspect fled the scene. Deputies pursued the suspect for approximately 20 miles before deploying a PIT maneuver, allowing law enforcement officials to apprehend the suspect.
The suspect was taken to the Redwood County Jail and the investigation is ongoing. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. More information will be released at a later time.
