JEFFERS – A Walnut Grove man was injured when his vehicle collided with a semi in Cottonwood County this (Tuesday) morning.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 4:32 this morning, a 2002 Toyota Tacoma was traveling southbound on Highway 71 and a 2014 Freightliner semi was traveling northbound on Highway 71 when they collided just south of the intersection with Highway 30 east of Jeffers.
The driver of the Toyota, 23-year-old Meng Yang of Walnut Grove, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Windom hospital.
The driver of the Freightliner, 62-year-old Douglas Jay Vandehoef of Windom, was not injured.
Assistance was provided by the Jeffers Fire Department, Windom Ambulance, and Windom Police.
