WASHINGTON, D.C. (LEARFIELD) —  The U-S Department of Agriculture is extending deadlines on crop insurance policies because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It means approved insurance providers are authorized to give policyholders additional time to pay premiums and administrative fees and to waive accrued interest.

It’s at the request of Minnesota Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, and North Dakota Senators John Hoeven (HOE-ven) and Kevin Cramer.
