ST. PAUL (KMHL) – Cases of COVID-19 continue to spread in Minnesota and around the country.

Updated numbers from the Minnesota Department of Health indicate there have been 689 total positive cases in the state and 17 fatalities.

Locally, cases have climbed again as health officials say a second individual has tested positive for coronavirus in Lyon County.

Overall, health officials say the median age of all coronavirus cases in Minnesota is 47 – the median age of hospitalized cases in Minnesota is age 64 and the median age of those dying from the virus is 84.
