MARSHALL – Two people were injured in a collision on Highway 59 in Lyon County Thursday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 1:16 Thursday afternoon, a 1997 Dodge Dakota was traveling southbound on Highway 59 in Lyon County and a 2002 Buick Rendezvous was traveling northbound on Highway 59 when the vehicles collided.
The driver of the Dodge, 49-year-old Michael Sean Mahon of Marshall, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the Buick, 37-year-old Lance Reed Iversen of Ivanhoe, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. The report notes Iversen was not wearing his seat belt.
Assistance was provided by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Fire Department, and North Memorial Ambulance.
