BROOKLYN CENTER (LEARFIELD)  —  There will be no high school football or volleyball seasons in Minnesota this fall.

The Minnesota State High School League today opted to move the football and volleyball seasons to spring, with shortened seasons, fewer games and no scrimmages.

The post-season plan has yet to be determined.

Tennis, swimming and diving, cross county and soccer will go on as planned this fall.

The soccer season in Minnesota can begin August 17 with a 20-percent reduction in weeks and 30-percent reduction in competition and games.
