HECTOR — On Wednesday  at approximately 8:48 AM, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a single-vehicle crash on County Road 4 near County Road 16, about 8 miles southwest of Hector.

Emergency responders arrived to find a 2009 Kensworth cement truck, owned by Dunnick, overturned in the eastbound ditch. The driver, 32-year-old Guadalupe Navarro of Willmar, had self-extracted from the vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to preliminary reports, Navarro was driving eastbound on County Road 4 when a front driver-side tire blew, causing him to lose control of the truck. The vehicle veered into the ditch and landed on its passenger side, resulting in significant damage to the cab. Navarro, who was wearing a seatbelt, escaped serious injury.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Hector Fire Department, and Hector Ambulance Service.
