MARSHALL — Lyon County Sheriff Eric Wallen announced the start of the 2024 Law Enforcement Scholarship Program, which will provide up to 18 scholarships of $2,000 each. These scholarships are funded by the Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association (MSA), with support from the state’s 87 elected sheriffs.

The scholarships are available to students enrolled in either the POST Skills Program, the second year of a two-year law enforcement program, or the third or fourth year of a four-year criminal justice degree. To qualify, students must have completed at least one year of a two-year program or two years of a four-year program.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. on November 15, 2024, and can be submitted in person or by mail to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. Forms are available online at www.mnsheriffs.org or at local sheriff’s offices. Scholarship recipients will be announced by December 30, 2024.
