Shane went to school in Slayton where he graduated in 1989. After school, he served in the United States Army National Guard. They made their home in Russell and were blessed with a daughter, Savanna, and a step daughter, Amber Knakmuhs. Shane was immensely proud to be a dad to all of his girls. Shane was an avid outdoorsman. He spent his time hunting and fishing; he shared those hobbies with his wife, daughters, and brothers. Shane spent several years racing and he enjoyed motorcycle trips with Nicole.
