WINDOM – Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving two cars, a semi truck, as well as a light pole.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 12:03 Tuesday afternoon, a 2022 Freightliner semi was traveling westbound on Highway 60 and a 2008 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Highway 71 when they collided. A 2018 Volkswagen Atlas was then struck by a light pole that was damaged from the initial crash. 

The driver of the Freightliner, 63-year-old John Darryl Rohrscheib of Las Vegas, Nevada, was not injured. 

The driver of the Toyota, 69-year-old Betty Jane Torkelson of Windom, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Windom hospital. 

The driver of the Volkswagen that was struck by a light pole, 68-year-old Arlis Ann Mcfarland of Lakefield, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Windom hospital. 

Assistance was provided by the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Windom Police Department, Windom Fire Department, and Windom Ambulance.
