A Celebration of Life Service for Richard Eucken, age 65, of Marshall, formerly of Windom, will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, at 11:00 AM at The American Lutheran Church in Windom, with Pastor Adam Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Windom. A time of visitation and gathering will also be held on Wednesday, May 1st at The American Lutheran Church in Windom from 10:00-11:00 AM. Richard Eucken passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024, at his home in Marshall, Minnesota. Arrangements are under the care of the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom.
Richard “Rick” Harlan Eucken was born on November 9, 1958, to Harlan and Elizabeth (Betty) Eucken in Windom, Minnesota. He was baptized and later confirmed at American Lutheran Church, in Windom. He graduated in the Class of 1977 from Windom Area High School, where he was active in cross country and football. While in high school, Rick enjoyed many family vacations to the Black Hills. He was an officer in ROTC and received a scholarship to South Dakota State University, Brookings for mechanical engineering and had a private pilot’s license. He spent one summer as a Park Ranger at Whitewater State Park. Most recently, he was employed at Carr Properties in Marshall, Minnesota for 25 years. Richard enjoyed his friends and family, and he never forgot a birthday.
Richard Harlan Eucken passed away unexpectedly on April 26th at his home in Marshall, MN.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Eucken-McBride of Redwood Falls; sister, Cindy (Mike) Firme of Redwood Falls; nephew, Justin (Melissa) Firme and their daughter, Kennedy of Alexandria; niece Lindsay (Tyler) Prescott and their daughter, Ellia of Redwood Falls. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Eucken.
