Geneva Marie Kolar, age 85 of Walnut Grove, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025 at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Care Center. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23 at the Walnut Grove Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Marshall Road Work Brings Intersection Opening, New Closure

MARSHALL — The intersection of West Saratoga Street and West College Drive is expected to reopen to traffic by late afternoon today, Friday, Sept. 19. The new traffic signal will initially operate in flashing red mode, requiring drivers to stop before proceeding. Meanwhile, beginning Monday, Sept. 22, the intersection of West College Drive and South 4th Street will close for pavement removal and underground utility work. The closure is expected to last several weeks. Marshall Public Works encourages residents to plan ahead and thanks the public for their patience.
