OLIVIA (LEARFIELD) – An Olivia man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for shooting a man he accused of persuading his wife to leave him.

Michael Klatt, 61, of Olivia pleaded guilty to shooting a 36-year-old Hector man with a shotgun in the Smart Mart in Fairfax last January.

Court records indicate that Klatt blamed the man for encouraging his wife to leave him. Klatt was charged with attempted murder and two counts of assault. A judge also ordered Klatt to pay restitution to the man.
