A memorial service for Mick Demuth, 71, of Flandreau, SD will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 11:00am at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Family will greet guests and visitors starting at 10:00 am. The Horvath Funeral Service of Marshall is handlig the arrangements.
Mick Francis Demuth was born in Tyler, MN on November 29, 1950 to Francis and Dorothy (Gemelke) Demuth. He grew up on the family farm, north of Russel and graduated from Russell High school in 1968. He attended vocational school for welding in Canby, MN. He worked as a blacksmith around the area for a number of years. Later in life, Mick was self-employed as an owner and operator doing long haul trucking. Mick married Julienne Sween on June 12, 1975. They had one child, Michael Francis Demuth II. In his free time, Mick enjoyed working on his house, cooking, fishing, and doing activities with his grandchildren.
Mick died on Thursday August 11, 2022 in Flandreau, SD. He is survived by his son Michael (Shayna) and grandchildren, Autumn, Brooklyn, Madelyn, and Dawson of Hendricks, MN. His siblings, Mary (Wayne) Krull of Tyler MN, Larry (Rosemary) Demuth of Lynd, MN, Shirley Smith (Fort Lauderdale, FL, Randy (Bonnie) Demuth of Sioux Falls, SD, Ronald (Alice) Demuth of Russell, MN, and Patrick (Lynette) of Worthington, MN. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
