Matthew R. Batzlaff age 32 of Redwood Falls, formerly of Alexandria, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 at his home after battling diabetes and kidney failure.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.  Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, guests will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing guidelines.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Matthew R. Batzlaff was born May 20, 1988 in Redwood Falls to Bruce Batzlaff & Barbara (Arndt).  He was baptized in Redwood Falls, and participated in Boy Scouts when he was young.  Matthew graduated from Breckenridge High School in 2006.  He was an avid gamer and loved playing video games, especially “Call of Duty”.  Matt enjoyed watching sports on TV, and was a huge fan of the Minnesota Wild and the Vikings.  He also liked to play basketball and football.  Matt loved spending time with his friends.

Matthew is survived by his father Bruce (Dawn) Batzlaff of Alexandria; mother Barbara Blake of Morton; siblings: Mandy Batzlaff (fiancé Brian Cook) of Redwood Falls, Eric Batzlaff of Redwood Falls & Stacy (Ashton) Batzlaff of Nashville, TN; grandmother Sylvia Robbins of Redwood Falls; and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Ken Arndt and Lois & Norman Batzlaff, and his twin baby Arndt cousins.
