MARSHALL – The Marshall Fire Department opened their doors on a rainy Friday to welcome in dozens of kindergartners from around the area to learn about fire safety and prevention.
Kindergartners from Marshall Public and Parochial Schools learned the two ways to exit a home and what firefighters look like if they must enter a home to rescue you. Firefighters also taught that you never go back into a fire once you get out. Firefighters from the Marshall Fire Department also showed the students how to stop, drop, and roll.
The topic of fire prevention included testing smoke alarms and watching a short video presentation. The field trip to the fire station wrapped up with a tour of the station, equipment, and trucks, and the students received a goody bag from the Marshall Fire Department.
