Linda “Nana” Louise King was born to Mathias and Dolores (Lanners) Antony on February 27, 1949, in Canby, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm near Canby and attended the Catholic School in St. Leo before graduating from Canby High School in 1967. Linda continued her education by attending Minnesota West in Canby. She was a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church.  Growing up on farms less than two miles apart, Linda met the love of her life, Michael King, and they were married on November 8th, 1969, and had two children: Robert and Joseph. Michael and Linda created a home together and farmed on the homestead of Michael’s parents until a tragic farm accident in 1992 that took the lives of her husband and youngest son. In the fall of 2004, Linda opened Nana’s daycare initially to help raise her grandchildren she cared so much for.  Linda harbored a special love for her family. She was especially fond of playing cards with Robert, Janet, her grandkids, and siblings. Linda was the #1 grandkid fan, always asking how her grandkids were doing in sports and in life. Family was Linda’s top priority, and she maintained strong connections with them by organizing family gatherings and attending every event she could.  In addition to her family, Linda had many friends in her small community and enjoyed drinking coffee with them and attending the weekly card club in St. Leo at the St. Leo Community Center. She had a sharp mind for playing cards and had a passion for soap operas on TV. Kind and dedicated to her family, loving, and tirelessly working to provide for them, Linda will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
