GRANITE FALLS, MN—A jet crash Monday evening in Yellow Medicine County has left one person dead and another injured, according to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the aircraft reported engine trouble around 5:23 p.m. while near the Granite Falls Airport. Just nine minutes later, a 911 call reported the jet had gone down near Highway 23, north of County Road 39.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and found one person standing near the highway, who was given medical care. The second occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The names of those involved have not been released, pending family notification. The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash.
