The iHeartRadio Music Awards went down Monday night and country music represented itself well.  Both Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen had HUGE nights.  Jelly Roll won Best New Country Artist and Best New Pop Artist, which proves how much of a crossover success he is.

And Morgan Wallen won Country Artist of the Year and Country Album of the Year for “One Thing at a Time”.  He’s such a big name now, and so busy gearing up for his 2024 tour, that he couldn’t be there in person to accept.

Jelly Roll, however, made his presence well known.  First, he had an awesome duet with Lainey Wilson on their new hit ballad, “Save Me”.  And then he tore the house down with an amazing acceptance speech.

The first thing he yelled out when he got on stage was, “My mama always told me I had a face for radio!”  Then he asked the crowd, quote, “What does it mean when a guy like me gets the opportunity to be the new pop artist of the year?  . . .

“It means that God will always use the least likely messenger with the biggest message, every single time.  You can take it to the bank, baby!”

With Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen leading the way, country music seems to be in a very healthy place.
