Excessive heat arrives in Minnesota today and stays through tomorrow.
Southwestern Minnesota is in a heat advisory, while areas in southern and central Minnesota have an excessive heat watch.
Meteorologist Jacob Beitlich of the National Weather Service says heat index values of up to 105 degrees are possible both today and tomorrow. He’s urging Minnesotans who have to be outdoors to stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks. Other precautions could be wearing light clothing and working either late or early in the day.
