The funeral service for Gloria Baumann, 60, of Tracy, will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation will be Friday, October 15, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall and Saturday, one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church. Interment will follow the service at the Lakefield MN Cemetery.
Gloria Gail Bass was born to Harold and Verna (Rients) Bass on April 9, 1961. She became a child of God through the waters of Holy Baptism on September 23, 1961, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rost Township, MN. On April 27, 1975, Gloria publicly confessed her baptismal faith in the rite of Confirmation. She attended St. Paul Lutheran School in Rost through eighth grade and graduated from Lakefield High School in 1979. She went on to attend Jackson Vo-Technical School for general clerical studies. Gloria was united in holy matrimony to her high school sweetheart Karl Baumann on June 14, 1980. God blessed their marriage with five children. Gloria frequently volunteered at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Fulda, MN, where her children attended. She was an active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and enjoyed ladies bible study. One of Gloria’s favorite Bible passages was Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” (NKJV) Gloria drove a school van for 4.0 Bus Service and worked with the food service at Tracy Elementary School until her retirement in 2019. She enjoyed gardening and canning her harvest. She also enjoyed camping and fishing with her family each summer. After a battle with ALS, the Lord graciously called Gloria home to heaven on October 11, 2021.
Gloria was preceded in death by her grandson Isaac Baumann, granddaughter Grace Baumann, sister Ann Bass and parents. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Karl, her children; Lance (Leah) Baumann of heron Lake, MN, Andrew (Danette) Baumann of Brandon, SD, Jared (Marissa) Baumann of Nicollet, MN, Emily (Jonathan) Mayer of Cochrane, WI, and Adam (Kallie) Baumann of Marshall, MN, 16 grandchildren, siblings Ruth, Kathy, David, Janna, Paul and Edith and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
