MARSHALL, Minn. — The public is invited to take part in Sketches of Minnesota, a free civic improv comedy event on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Marshall YMCA, 200 South A Street.
Presented by the Minnesota Humanities Center and Danger Boat Productions, the event combines community conversation with unscripted improv comedy to encourage dialogue and celebrate what makes Minnesota communities unique. Audience members will share their perspectives on what they value about Marshall, common misconceptions about the community, local challenges, and their hopes for the future. An improv troupe will then transform those conversations into a live comedy performance.
The evening begins with a community hour from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a catered dinner from 6 to 7:15 p.m. The improv show runs from 7:15 to 8 p.m., with a talkback session concluding the event from 8 to 8:30 p.m.
The Lyon County Historical Society Museum and Visit Marshall are serving as local host partners.
