Larry Dean Halverson was born on January 1, 1936, in Foley, Minnesota. He was soon adopted, along with his brother, Roger, in March of 1939 by Menzer and Esther (Greene) Halverson. Larry attended school in Tracy, Minnesota, and graduated with the high school class of 1955. While in school, Larry entered the National Guard for 3 years before serving his country in the United States Army after graduation. Larry was stationed in France from 1956 until 1958, when her returned home to marry his sweetheart.Larry was united in marriage to Mayme Nelson on November 9, 1958, in Tracy. The couple made their home in Marshall, Minnesota, and raised two daughters: Lori, born in 1959, and then Lisa in 1964. Larry was incredibly fond of Mayme’s parents, Frans and Nora Nelson, and he always called them “Ma and Pa”.  Larry spent over 40 years in the electrical trade and was heavily involved in construction. In fact, he built their current home where he and Mayme have lived for over 50 years. Larry always had a special place in his heart for pets, and he always had a dog at his side.  Larry’s enjoyments in life included hunting, fishing, cutting wood, and gardening. He would often share vegetables with family, friends, and neighbors. Larry had a positive outlook on life; He was a great storyteller – his audience hung on every word he said. Larry was also at the ready to help anyone in need, and he was a hard worker, evidenced in everything he did. Most of all, Larry was proud of his family and loved them all unconditionally, with his whole heart. That same love was returned to him in full. He will be dearly missed.
