GRANITE FALLS (KMHL) – A Franklin man was convicted of 2nd Degree Manslaughter in connection with the death of his roommate.
Yesterday, a jury in Granite Falls found Russell Doucette was guilty of 2nd Degree Manslaughter in the August 2017 death of his roommate Randy Oletzke at the home the two shared near Franklin.
Earlier this year, Doucette withdrew from a plea agreement when he learned he’d likely face prison time if he pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular homicide. The jury acquitted him on that charge.
Authorities claim that Doucette ran over Oletzke and didn’t report the incident until the following evening.
He’ll be sentenced December 17th on the second-degree manslaughter conviction.
