JEFFERS – A Comfrey man is dead following a two-vehicle accident on Monday in Cottonwood County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 10:13 Monday morning, a 2007 Chevy Silverado was traveling westbound on Highway 30 and a 2022 Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound on Highway 71 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.  

The driver of the Chevy, 81-year-old Jerry Lee Evers of Comfrey, died from injuries sustained in the accident. The report notes Evers was unbelted at the time of the crash.  

The driver of the Nissan, 54-year-old Scott Bruce Burdorf of Montevideo, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Windom hospital.
