A cancer support fundraiser for Breiann Alston is happening at Polish Nail Lounge (on East College Drive) now through Friday 7/28. Our dear friend Breiann is fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and could use encouragement from the Marshall Community. Purses start $35 and all proceeds go toward cancer care while she manages her symptoms. Stop by and take a look. You just might find a fun new style!

Go golfing with the Marshall Education Association for the MEA Golf Meet on July 31st. The Marshall Education Association (MEA) will be hosting a golf tournament and you're invited to test your golf skills! This will all take place at the Marshall Golf Club. It's a 4-person team best ball tournament. MEA members will take on students, parents, and community members.

The Milroy Lions Club is having an all you can eat pulled BBQ dinner. This will be Wednesday, August 2nd at Milroy City Park from 5 to 8 PM. They will be serving grilled pork roast, with homemade BBQ sauce, corn on the cob (if ready), potato salad, bread and a beverage. There will also be dessert table from the Milroy Go Getters 4H and the Lions beer wagon. For the meal, Adults are $12, ages 6-12 are $5, and all kids age 5 or under eat free. The MK 5K Run and Family Fun Walk is an in person out and back 5K run or 2 mile walk in support of the Southwest Crisis Center and Mary Kay Foundation that takes place during the Nobles County Fair in Worthington, Minnesota.  This race will challenge your heart in two ways. The Lyon County Museum is hosting an open house in celebration of their new exhibit on the Vietnam war on Tuesday, August 8th from 1:30 to 4:00 PM. This event is open to all veterans, their family members, and active military service men and women. Light refreshments will be served. During this special opening, at 2:00 PM local Vietnam veterans will share how they participated in the exhibit.
