The Redwood-Cottonwood Rivers Control Area (RCRCA) is sponsoring a canoe trip on the Redwood River on the 27 and 29 of June. Registration is due by June 21st. The group is set to meet at 9:30AM and take on the river at 10:00 with openings available on both the 27 and 29th of June. We’ll meet at Perk’s Park on the shores of Lake Redwood in Redwood Falls and take a shuttle bus to County Road 6, where the Redwood River crosses CR 6 and canoe back to our vehicles at Lake Redwood. Buffalo Ridge Pheasants Forever will be holding the 2nd Annual Fun Shoot at the Tyler Rod and Gun Club 1 mile west of Tyler, MN on Highway 14, south side of highway June 27, 2023. Starting at 5pm you can come and shoot trap. For $20 you will get a brat, chips, side and water plus one round of trap. Shells and clays included. Additional rounds are $15 for shells and clays. EmpowHer is a women's empowerment conference that is coming to the Marshall community to inspire women in all stages of life. The 9th annual Forever Jen Memorial Motorcycle Run will be happening on Saturday, July 8th of 2023 at the Ivanhoe Liquor Store in Ivanhoe, MN. Registration is from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. The Echo Lions Club is hosting and event Saturday July 8th at Vicki's Camp N Country Jam. This will be a pancake feed and bingo. This event is open to the public and no festival ticket is needed. The pancake feed is $10 and goes from 8AM to 10AM. You must be 18+ to enter. Bingo will be from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. They will play 15 games with prizes up to $200 value.

Tracy Area Garden’s and Quilts Tour is set for July 12 in the Balaton/Garvin area. Our self guided tour is from 2-7:30 pm. The Milroy Irish are hosting the Pipestone A's in amateur baseball Wednesday, July 12th at 7:30 at the Irish Yard. Over 30 flavors of brats will be available for purchase. It's also Firefighter Night at the Yard, with the Milroy Fire Department showing off their firetrucks. Kids wearing their summer rec t-shirt will receive free admission and one free candy item from the concession stand. Fans will have the chance to get autographs from the players and run the bases after the game.

A cancer support fundraiser for Breiann Alston is happening at Polish Nail Lounge (on East College Drive) now through Friday 7/28. Our dear friend Breiann is fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and could use encouragement from the Marshall Community. Purses start $35 and all proceeds go toward cancer care while she manages her symptoms. Stop by and take a look. You just might find a fun new style!

The Milroy Lions Club is having an all you can eat pulled BBQ dinner. This will be Wednesday, August 2nd at Milroy City Park from 5 to 8 PM. They will be serving grilled pork roast, with homemade BBQ sauce, corn on the cob (if ready), potato salad, bread and a beverage. The MK 5K Run and Family Fun Walk is an in person out and back 5K run or 2 mile walk in support of the Southwest Crisis Center and Mary Kay Foundation that takes place during the Nobles County Fair in Worthington, Minnesota.
