A Holiday Shopping Open House will be held on Saturday, November 2nd from 10 am to 2 pm at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, MN. A collection of vendors, including Pampered Chef, Usborne Books, Simply Unique Jewelry, Norwex, Young Living, Tastefully Simple, Leather Arts, and many more will be gathered for a truly one-stop holiday shopping experience. A meal including homemade soups, BBQs, homemade pies, and hot apple cider will be available for a free-will donation. This event is being sponsored by Choices Pregnancy Center of Redwood Falls.

SMSU voice students will present “Fall Festival of Song” on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Many different styles of music will be performed, including opera, art song, folk music, and musical theatre. The event is free and open to the public. The Buffalo Ridge A. B. A. T. E. chapter is putting on a Chili feed and silent auction to help our chapter and the Tracy Area football program. The chili Feed and Silent Auction will take place on November 2nd at Caboose in Tracy at 5pm. Tommy Rexx will be providing the entertainment for the evening.

Angela Trudell Vasquez will read her poetry on Wed., Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Whipple Gallery on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University. Her reading is a part of the Visiting Writers series at SMSU. Vasquez’s new collection of poems from the book In Light, Always Light honor the illuminating power of poetry, but speak expressively of racial injustice and the dark “inherited grief” that is its offspring.
