Here is your opportunity to help out families in need at the Walsh Village/Ronald McDonald house at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, SD. They are in need of: individual size bottle water, individual size bottled juice, individually wrapped snacks - fruit snacks, granola bars, cereal bars, cookies, crackers, snack cakes, etc. You can drop off any item at the Porter Cafe in Porter,MN between 6a and 3p daily during the month of January.

Mark your calendar and plan to attend the 2024 Pipestone Lamb and Wool Program Lambing Time Short Course and Bus Tour which will be held on February 2nd and 3rd in Pipestone. We have an excellent program planned and we will be touring outstanding sheep operations. The program starts with Friday evening discussion from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday will begin at 8:00 a.m. with lambing time management and health topics. 7th annual Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser to benefit Marshall Food4Kids will be Saturday, February 3 from 8:00 to 10:00 am at Applebee’s Marshall – 1510 E. College Dr.Pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee, juice, and milk will be served. Adult tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children 12 and under are $7 in advance and $8 at the door.Meals are available for take-out as well. Saturday, February 3rd join in on the annual Rock Nobles Cattlemens Banquet at the Worthington Event Center. Tickets will be available at the door, cost is $30 a plate. Events for the night include social hour beginning at 6 p.m., steak dinner gets underway at 6:30 p.m., and following will be comedian Tim the Dairy Farmer. Join the Lake Benton Lions Club at the Lake Benton Community & Event Center Sunday, February 4th for a breakfast benefit. Serving will be from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Menu includes pancakes, french toast, eggs, sausage, toast, coffee, & milk. Net proceeds from the event will go towards medical expenses for Austin and Katelyn Krumm's son, born January 14th. Crue Hayes was born at 30 weeks weighing 1lb 15oz and is expected to be in the ICU until the end of March.

2nd Annual Wood Lake Fire Department Fish Fry
Let the Wood Lake fire department cook fried fish with all the fixings for you. Join in on the good food February 10th at the Wood Lake Community Center from 5 - 8 p.m. Woody's Bar will be there serving beverages. The fry will be a free will donation, 15$ is suggested. All proceeds from the fry will go to the fire department to help pay for new SCBAs.

The St. Edwards Knights of Columbus are hosting a Lenten Fish Fry on Friday, February 16th at St. Edwards Church in Minneota. GriefShare: New Session beginning Monday, February 19, 2024 If you have experienced the death of a loved one (spouse, child, friend, family) and are journeying toward grief healing, you are invited to GriefShare 13-week sessions. GriefShare features biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The DVD seminar features nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion about what was viewed.
