SMSU Jazz Ensemble with Guest Drummer, Allison Miller
The SMSU Jazz Ensemble will host New York based drummer, Allison Miller as their guest jazz artist on March 27-29, 2022. The concert will be held on Tuesday, March 29th at 7:30 p.m. in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre. The concert will also feature the Marshall High School Jazz Band. The concert is free and open to the public. This activity is funded in part with a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council made possible by an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State’s general fund.

The St. Edwards Catholic School Education Committee is hosting a Lenten Fish Fry on Friday, April 8th at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Serving from 4:30-7:00 p.m. Adults (over age 12) are $12, kids (ages 4-12) $8, and kids 3-under eat free. Sponsored by St. Edward Catholic Church and School. All are welcome! Take-outs are available by contacting the Church Office at (507) 872-6346. Living Stations of the Cross to follow Fish Fry at 7:00 p.m. in the church.

Palm Sunday Religious Education Fundraiser
We will be serving Belgian Waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausage for a freewill donation. We will also have a bake sale and silent auction. The Palm Sunday Fundraiser will be held at Ss Peter & Paul Church in Ivanhoe at 10:30 am-1:00 pm. Proceeds help pay for Religious Education Programs for all six churches in Christ the King Area Faith Community.

During the 2021 Minnesota legislative session, an important bill called Travis’ Law was passed. Travis’ Law requires 911 call centers to send mental health crisis response teams, rather than law enforcement, to mental health crisis calls. Come to a presentation and discussion on how communities are implementing Travis’ Law and what it means for you and your family.
