Lamberton, MN — The Southwest MN Farm Business Management Association and University of Minnesota Extension are pleased to announce the 2026 Farm Management Profitability Conference. The event will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the University of Minnesota Southwest Research & Outreach Center (SWROC) in Lamberton.
This conference is bringing together experts from the University of Minnesota and the Department of Revenue to help producers benchmark their performance and prepare for the year ahead.
2026 Conference Highlights:
- 2025 Net Farm Income Analysis: Garen Paulson, SWMFBMA Fieldman, Analysis of how strong yields and livestock markets balanced against inflation and rising expenses in 2025.
- MN Paid Leave: Extension Educators Rob Holcomb and Susanne Hinrichs will lead a deep dive into the new Minnesota Paid Leave program and its implications for both employers and employees.
- Property Tax Review: Emily Nelson from the Minnesota Department of Revenue will explain how property taxes are calculated, how classifications impact costs, and how these taxes fund local services like schools and public safety.
