“Sunshine guilt” occurs when there’s been a string of bad weather days, then suddenly it’s sunny, but you just don’t feel like going out. Early spring, in particular, seems to be prime “sunshine guilt” season.

This phenomenon is loosely related to other trendy terms like FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), bed rotting, and even “hurkle-durkling,” a Scottish term for staying in bed when it’s time to get up.

Your “sunshine guilt” might be exacerbated if you check social media and see your friends out enjoying the nice weather while you’re stuck indoors.

A woman on TikTok is gaining attention after sharing her experience of having a perfectly okay day indoors, only to have her sunshine guilt ruin everything.
