Dallas Roy Norstegard, age 83 of Tracy, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 surrounded by family at Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Celebration of life will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Tracy Area Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dallas Roy Norstegard was born January 23, 1940 to Julius and Thelma (Lien) Norstegard on their family farm near Dovray, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Dovray. Dallas graduated from Westbrook High School in 1958. On February 18, 1966, Dallas married Clarice “Punkie” Johnson in Brookings, South Dakota. Together they raised four children in Tracy, MN. Dallas began his trucking career as a teenager hauling sheep to New York. After driving for his son’s company, Norstegard Trucking, he retired in 2018. Along with driving for various trucking companies, Dallas also worked for Homera Homes and Donaldson Lumber. Although retired, Dallas still enjoyed spending many hours at the shop. Dallas loved spending time with his family. His face would light up whenever his grandkids and great grandkids were around. He also enjoyed raising quarter horses and having coffee with his friends at his favorite spot – the Red Rooster.
Dallas is survived by his wife Clarice; children: Lisa (Donavon) Wunschel of Spencer, IA, Paula (Henry) Filter, Dennis (Krista) Norstegard both of Tracy, and Jill (Darren) Willard of Sioux Falls, SD; 11 grandchildren: Nicole Rodrigues Dos Santos of Columbia, SC, Eric (Elizabeth) Kor of Sioux Falls, SD, Tashia (Jeremy) Joynt of Emmetsburg, IA, Jessica Lamb (Isaac Sagmoe) of Tracy, Brittany Goblirsch (Jon Baune) of Wabasso, Tara Norstegard (Anton Jimenez) of Duluth, Alyssa Norstegard of Wabasso, Cody Norstegard of Brookings, SD, Derek (Chelsea) Willard, Dylan Willard (Paige Ver Meer), and Dain Willard (Sariah Nelson) all of Sioux Falls, SD; 16 great grandchildren; sister: Doris Doerhoefer of Willmar; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Dennis, brother-in-law Ray Doerhoefer, and mother-in-law and fathers-in-law Frances and Art Weinberg and Morris Johnson.
