MARSHALL—A detour on Country Club Drive begins Tuesday, July 8, as part of the ongoing Highway 19 reconstruction project in Marshall, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).
Country Club Drive will be closed from Southview Drive to Highway 19 to allow construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Highway 19, Country Club Drive, and South 2nd Street. Traffic will be detoured via Southview Drive and Highway 59 through the end of September, weather permitting.
The Highway 19/College Drive project is progressing in stages to minimize traffic impacts. Highway 19 is currently closed from Fairgrounds Road to the Highway 59/68 intersection. Through traffic is being rerouted to County Road 7 and Highway 23. Access to homes and businesses remains open at 4th Street and North Greely Street.
Beginning Tuesday:
-
Country Club Drive will be closed from Southview Drive to Highway 19
-
Timmerman Drive, Artillery Drive, and South 2nd Street will be closed at Highway 19
-
Country Club traffic will be detoured to Southview Drive and Highway 59
The reconstruction covers 1.8 miles of Highway 19/College Drive from Marlene Street to Bruce Street. It includes replacing pavement, updating underground utilities, constructing a single-lane roundabout, improving sidewalks and pedestrian ramps, and making safety enhancements along the corridor.
The $25.7 million project, led by R and G Construction, is supported by $15.4 million in federal RAISE grant funding.
