UNDATED (LEARFIELD) – The World Health Organization has declared the Wuhan (woo-han) coronavirus a global health emergency.
And officials in Illinois have confirmed the first person-to-person transmission of the virus in the U-S.
Kris Ehresmann with the state Health Department says the risk of a Minnesotan getting the coronavirus is very low.
“Fever, cough, difficulty breathing, and some of those overlap with influenza,” said Ehresmann. “Yes, it’s a season where it’s a little challenging because there are multiple things happening.”
In total, more than 82-hundred people have been infected with coronavirus which has killed 171 people.
There are six confirmed cases of coronavirus the U-S. None have been reported in Minnesota.
