MONTEVIDEO (KMHL) — A two-vehicle collision has left one person dead and two injured. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 9:47 Saturday morning, a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country minivan and a 2018 Ford Explorer were traveling on Highway 7 in Leenthrop Township of Chippewa County. Near the intersection with 30th Avenue Southeast, the two vehicles collided.  

The driver of the minivan, 19-year-old Hailey Ann Berghuis of Clara City died from injuries sustained in the accident.  

The driver of the Ford, 65-year-old Eric Karl Heimer of Spearfish, South Dakota, received non-life-threatening injuries. His passenger, 75-year-old Gwendolyn Jane Heimer of Spearfish, South Dakota, received life-threatening injuries and was transported to the North Memorial Hospital in the Twin Cities.
