Memorial services for Cherree Tongen will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the United Methodist Church in Gary, SD. Due to Covid only family and close friends are to come please. Following the service for the family there will be a Celebration of Life/lunch for the public at 12 pm on Saturday, July 18th at the American Legion in Gary SD. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby, MN is entrusted with the arrangements.
Cherree Michel Tongen was born July 28, 1975 in Canby MN. Died July 3rd, 2020 in Canby MN by a heart attack. Cherree has lived in South Dakota for 16 years, currently living in Gary SD and was employed at Tech. Ordinance in Clear Lake, SD for the last 13 years. She was as a very loving mother and grandmother who loved family and being with friends! She is lifted in everyone’s spirits and will be very dearly missed.
Cherree is survived by her parents, Jerry and Sharon; three children, Cyanthia, Jacob, and Ethan; grandchildren, Collin and Jamison; two sisters: Becky and Amy; one brother, Jerry (LeAnne); and her special friend Jr. Schafer. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Verle and Helen Anderson; paternal grandparents Lavern (Ida) Tongen and Ellen Gottskalkson; her aunt Carol, uncle Rocky and cousin Arloa.
